Exploring Migration
Using the migration route of the Arctic Tern as my initial inspiration.
During the latter end of this project we again went into lockdown, this time I decided to purchase a small heat press machine it became my go piece of equipment. The possibilities are endless with a heat press I used it in the standard way printing onto fabric using transfer dyes, but also experimented with oil pastels to melt them into cork.

This pattern can be used in a number of ways, here it is imagined as an upholstery fabric.
Wing on Cork
Exploring the possibilty as cork as a wall covering. Using oil pastels and the heat press I created a bright and inetresting wall covering. Adding foil and flock areas to create more texture.

Further exploration of cork as a wall covering. Using the flight path of the Arctic Tern, to create a pattern using the heat press to add flock and foils.

Using experimental mark making and my Arctic Tern sketches I create a repeat pattern, indented for use as a wall covering.
